About

Welcome to Racquet Prep, your go-to spot for all things squash, from training tips to community stories across the Midwest.

I’m Mohammad Hamid, and I picked up a racket in early 2023 with zero expectations, just a curiosity about this fast-paced game. Pretty quickly I fell in love with the strategy, the physical challenge, and the rush of a perfectly placed shot. Every day since then has been about getting a little sharper—on my footwork, my tactics, and even my gear choices.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Real-world training takeaways I’m testing on the court
  • Match insights from local leagues and tournaments
  • Gear reviews so you know what really works
  • Profiles and highlights of players and clubs around Detroit, Chicago, Grand Rapids and beyond
  • Lessons learned—the setbacks, the breakthroughs and the small wins in between

This isn’t a pro’s corner. It’s the journal of someone still learning, experimenting, and sharing every useful tip I come across. My hope is that whatever your level, you’ll find something here that makes your next practice session or match a little smarter.

Why the Midwest Matters

Midwest squash has a special kind of energy. The clubs here are full of players who love the game just as much as I do. I want Racquet Prep to shine a light on the coaches, players, and events that make our region so vibrant.

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going

I’d love to connect with fellow players, coaches, and anyone curious about squash. Drop a comment on a post, send me an email, or catch me at the courts. Thanks for stopping by—I can’t wait to see how your journey unfolds.
